Verkoop Boerengrond voor Natuurproject in Bij+Holwert Nog Onzeker
De voorgenomen aankoop van 2,7 miljoen euro aan boerengrond in Bij+Holwert voor de aanleg van nieuw natuurgebied is in gevaar. De Provincie Fryslân had de gronden willen aankopen om een verbinding te creëren tussen bestaande natuurgebieden in het gebied. Echter, de eigenaar van de gronden heeft aangegeven dat hij zich heeft bedacht en niet langer wil verkopen. De provincie is teleurgesteld over de beslissing. Volgens gedeputeerde Johannes Kramer zou het natuurproject een significante bijdrage leveren aan de ecologische waarde van het gebied. Hij geeft aan dat de provincie momenteel onderzoekt of er alternatieve mogelijkheden zijn om het project door te laten gaan. De eigenaar van de gronden, die anoniem wil blijven, stelt dat hij de gronden heeft geërfd en dat hij het belangrijk vindt om die binnen de familie te houden. Hij erkent het ecologische belang van het project, maar benadrukt dat hij het recht heeft om zijn eigendom te behouden. Het is onduidelijk of de provincie juridische stappen zal ondernemen om de aankoop af te dwingen. De eigenaar heeft aangegeven dat hij bereid is om te praten, maar dat hij vastbesloten is om zijn gronden niet te verkopen. De ontwikkelingen in Bij+Holwert zijn een tegenslag voor natuurbeheerders die proberen de biodiversiteit in het gebied te verbeteren. Before Roze Zaterdag:
* Noorderpoort students from Content Creator, AV Specialist, and Podiumtechniek programs will host a talk show on inclusivity. * Photography and Spatial Design students will showcase their work at Noorderlicht. * Students from hospitality programs will assist with Groningen’s “walking dinner.”
On the Day of Roze Zaterdag:
* Creative students will perform on various stages throughout the city. * Groningen MBO students will participate in the Pride Walk with a float they created. * A special “Drag Me to the A” party for students will be held at Museum aan de A, organized by the museum, Hanze University, and Dorothy’s Drag Queen show bar. * Anouk Ebbers, a Terra student, will conclude the Pride Walk with a spoken word performance she wrote.

We look forward to a beautiful and diverse Roze Zaterdag!”A purchase of agricultural land worth 2.7 million euros in an effort to create new nature reserves near Bij+Holwert is currently in jeopardy. The land’s purchase was initially approved by the executive council of the province of Friesland, but has since been halted due to objections raised by the Royal Netherlands Society for the Protection of Birds. The organization argues that the land should instead be designated as a protected bird sanctuary, citing the presence of several rare and endangered species in the area. The provincial executive council has now requested the opinion of the Council of State, which will determine whether or not the land can still be purchased for the purpose of creating new nature reserves. The Council of State is expected to issue its ruling in the coming months. In the meantime, the provincial executive council has stated that it is committed to finding a solution that will benefit both nature and agriculture in the area. The council has also expressed its willingness to work with the Royal Netherlands Society for the Protection of Birds to explore alternative options for protecting the land and its wildlife.
