Wildlife Photographer of the Year Expositie in Forum Groningen De 59e editie van de internationale foto-expositie van de Wildlife Photographer of the Year competitie is te zien in Forum Groningen. De expositie zet de winnende beelden in de spotlights, met uitzonderlijke momenten van dierengedrag, spectaculaire diersoorten en de adembenemende diversiteit van de natuur. Nederlandse Winnaar De Nederlandse Lennart Verheuvel won in de categorie Oceans: The Bigger Picture. Hij legde een 5,5 meter grote orka vast die aanspoelde aan de Nederlandse kust, een zeldzaam gezicht in de Noordzee. Helaas bleek het dier ernstig ziek en stierf het kort daarna. Grote Winnaar De grote winnaar van Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 is Laurent Ballesta uit Frankrijk. Hij dook twee weken lang in beschermde wateren rond de Filipijnen om de degenkrab vast te leggen, een van de oudste dieren ter wereld. Het resultaat is een indrukwekkend en bijna ‘buitenaards’ beeld. Forum Wildlife Fotowedstrijd Geïnspireerd door de expositie, organiseert Forum Groningen een eigen natuurfotowedstrijd. Fotografen van alle leeftijden kunnen tot 8 september een foto inzenden.
